An exploratory research work by the well known National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) was carried out with permissions from Vipassana Research Institute (VRI) from 2012 to 2015 to assess the changes brought about by Vipassana Meditation. A study on Neuro-Psycho- Physiological wellbeing in long term meditators and the functional changes in brain has thrown light on how practice of Vipassana has increased the awareness level and decreased the various negative tendencies from meditator’s mind. The positive results give a valuable testimony to the efficacy of the Vipassana technique.
